To celebrate Mother's Day this year, Ana Yakhnina pens a letter to her darling daughter, Theia on growing up around the world together. The pair have lived everywhere from Bali to Portugal, and now, Mexico, proving that home truly is where the heart is. 

Dear Theia...

"I’m writing to you on the way (as always), between projects and places, big decisions and changes ahead, so before I forget to tell you... I LOVE YOU!

I love every single bit about you, every moment of your existence. When you didn’t want to brush your teeth tonight (like every night) and hid in the kitchen and when you danced on the street outside our Airbnb this morning, when you made plum and mango lemonades and said they’re good for the lungs and when you did nothing for a minute, too.

"We’ve been living in the most magical places together: Portugal, Bali, Mexico- all thanks to you, because you showed me what really is important, and that’s simply the Beauty of Now." 

You’re the most masterly teacher, a muse, a friend, a mirror, you’re everything at once and I’m so grateful you’ve come to this world and to us.

Thank you for being just as you are, you’re loved, you are love... it will probably take you years to realise that, and it’s okay! I’m always here with you on this journey of growing up. Growing up together!
